After taking a disappointing loss on Friday night the Point Edward Pacers traveled to Owen Sound Sunday and came home with a 15 - 13 win over the North Stars in Junior B Lacrosse League action.
Owen Sound outshot the Pacers 67 - 39. Brayden Bell had a strong performance in net earning his first win of the season.
"The boys played good. Owen Sound is a rebuilding team." Head Coach Jim Bell said
Point Edward led the charge in the first period taking a 9 - 4 lead. Brandan Burr opened the scoring just :40 seconds into the game. Dan Charlton scored three, one on a power play in the first with Kevin Conroy scoring two and singles by Mitch Doughty, Liam Wright, Cory Burr.
Owen Sound scored two power play goals in the first period by Ryan Hamelin and Brendan Welsh and Spencer Edler scored two goals.

In the second Owen Sound came back and narrowed the lead to two points outscoring the Pacers 5 - 2. The North Stars capitalized on three three power plays with Jake McNabb scoring two and Brendan Welsh scoring a single. Spencer Edler, Jordan Caskenette also scored singles in the second period for the North Stars.
For the Pacers Connor Smith scored a short handed goal unassisted and Kevin Conroy scored the second Pacers goal. The Pacers remained in the lead after two period of play by a score of 11 - 9.
In the third both sides were tied with 4 goals each. Owen Sound battle hard and came within one. Pacer's Dan Charlton scored the only power play goal of the period and added a single. Other goals scored by Corry Burr and Kevin Conroy. For Owen Sound Brendan Welsh scored two, Geordan Stephens and CJ Arthur scored singles.
Owen Sound's netminders Dylan Sheard and Skylar McKay shared in the loss.
The Pacers went two for three on the power play, Owen Sound went five for nine.
"We played strong defensively. We are 3-1 in last 4 games." Bell said
Point Edward is now 3-8 for the season and are back in action when they travel to Guelph on Saturday June 8 then return home for a Sunday game at 3:00 pm against Orangeville at the Point Edward Arena.
