Sarnia Legionnaires Season Ends

The Sarnia Legionnaires were edged out in a close game that ended their season after taking a 2 - 1 loss against the Leamington Flyers in the Western County quarter round Jr B playoff. 

 

Leamington score the first goal in the first period at 10:12 by Joe Manchurek.  In the second both sides went scoreless.  At 4:36 in the third the Flyers took a two goal lead on a goal scored by Alex Sequin.  Brent Sauve narrowed the gap with the first Legionnaire goal at 13:07.

 

As the game neared the end, the Flyers playing with a man short due to a penalty Sarnia pulled their goalie for the two man attack but came up short giving the Maroons the win and the series.

 

Sean Parker turned away 39 shots in the loss, Austyn Roudebush earned  the win with 22 saves.

 

Sarnia went zero for one on power play opportunities, Leamington went zero for two.

 

Leamington took the series 4 games to 1.
