Lambton Shores Predators Now in a Must Win Situation after Thursday night Loss

The Lambton Shores Predators gave up a two goal lead in the first period and the Chatham Maroons went on and took a 5 - 2 to win game five in Western County Jr B quarter final round.

 

Ryan Rotondi scored the first goal for the Predators short handed assisted by Matt Ross.  Tanner Ferguson score the second goal for the Predators at 18:17 with Kyle Brothers and Adam Arseneault assisting.
 

In the second period Chatham scored two back to back goals the first at 8:09 then at 9:44 for the tie. Michael Verboom ad Alexander Morgan scored the two goals.  At 11:45 Brennan Feasey scored the go ahead goal and eventual game winner on the power play to take a 3 - 2 lead heading into the third.

 

Third period action saw a second power play goal by Chatham midway into the period by Evan Mascaro.  The Predators fought back and pulled their goalie early for the extra attacker but the Maroon held off the attack and widened the lead after scoring into the empty net at 17:37.  Trevor Richardson scored the final goal.

Darien Ekblad earned the win with 26 saves, Brandon Campbell stopped 35 of the 39 shots.

 

Lambton Shores went zero for four on the power play, Chatham went two for six.

 

Chatham now leads the series three games to two and the Predators are now in a must win situation to keep the series alive.  The two teams will meet on Saturday March 9th for game six at Lambton Shores at 7:30 pm,
