On Friday the St. Christopher Cyclones dominated over the Northern Vikings Ladies taking the LSSAA Junior Girls Rugby title with a final score of 29 - 5.
"I think our depth maybe helped us as we had thirty girls to go; they had eighteen and that says it all." said Cyclones coach Michael Brown
The Cyclones led 22 - 0 at the half. In the second Northern came out and fought hard and scored first. The Cyclones later scored a single try and convert and the two sides went back and forth and time ran out giving the Cyclones the win.
"Northern came back and they never gave up. That's a tribute to their coaching staff and their girls ran hard"
Scoring for the Cyclones were Erin Van Heist, Jenna Cimatta, Kiana Waters, Alisha Renaud and Kyla Klauke. The Cylclones also kicked in 2 converts by Naomi Dubs and Jaimie Burrowes.
The Junior Ladies have gone undefeated in league play and recently won a tournament. This is the sixth straight year that the Junior Ladies has taken the LSSAA title.
