tuesday may 21, 2013

The Sarnia Braves swept both games of their Can-Am double header on the road on Sunday against the Windsor Athletics.

Trailing 6-1 into the sixth inning, the Braves battled back with three runs in the sixth and three more in the seventh to take the lead. The game ended 7-6. Anthony Shepherd picked up the win and Mike Damchuk the save. McKenzie Maxwell homered and tripled for Sarnia.

In the night cap, Braves starter Nick Baljeu worked a five hit and six strikeout performance as he went the distance for the win 6-1. The game was tied until the sixth inning when a Damchuk and Greg Kemble hits would lead to five runs for Sarnia.

On Friday night the Braves beat the Ontario #9 ranked Tecumseh Thunder 9-1 on the road. Wade Babula picked up the win. Keegan Brandon homered.
