For their 2013 home opener the Point Edward Pacers hosted the Wallaceburg Red Devils before 379 Lacrosse fans.
"We are back in Point Edward and that is where lacrosse started" said Pacers Coach Jim Bell "We are back home, this is where it started and hopefully we can continue the tradition."
Bell told his players prior to the game, "Point Edward fans are great and they have had some great players and now it's this team that has the opportunity to put their footprints in that landscape for people to remember years down the road."
The game was exciting but the Pacers came up short taking a 16 - 13 loss.
#17 Kevin Conroy scoring his first of four goals of the night.
"We battled hard, we didn't give up." Bell said "We went into it with the thought of battling for each possession and we did that. The boys played really well."
Wallaceburg took a 5 - 3 lead in the first period. In the second the score tightened up and Wallaceburg led by a single point with the score at 10 - 9. In the third the Pacers tied the game and took the lead but Wallaceburg answered back and pulled ahead for the win.

Kevin Conroy led the Pacers scoring 4 goals and 1 assists for a 5 point game. Dan Charlton and Brandan Burr each had a 4 point night with 1 goal and 3 assists each. TJ Mara and Connor Smith scored 3 points with 1 goal and 2 assists. Mitch Doughty, Blair McFarlane, Liam Wright and Connor Wright scored singles to round out the scoring.
For Wallaceburg Mike Myers, Jordan Durston, Lucas Beaver and Evan Mathany each scored triples. Mitch Lilley, Chris Taylor, Joel Shepley and Keith Dawson all scored one goal each.
Both sides went two for six on the power play.

Jordan Durston of Wallaceburg was selected the 1st star of the night. Point Edward's Kevin Conroy earned 2nd star and Mike Myers of Wallaceburg was selected 3rd.
The Pacers are now 0 - 7 for the season and look for their first win on Friday when they host Welland. Game time is 8:00 pm at the Point Edward Arena.
"I think if we play that kind of style that we played tonight and go in with the same mindset and compete we should fair well . Our first Win is not far away.' Bell said.
