The Sarnia Saints Men's Premier team was the last team to play in the three game Home Opener on Saturday at Norm Perry Park.
The Saints gave up a 11 - 0 lead at the half and finished losing with a final score of 27 - 16 against the Oshawa Vikings. In the first half Sarnia scored on a try and 2 penalty kicks and added a single try in the second half. For Oshawa they scored 4 tries and converted on 2 and picked up 3 extra points on a penalty kick.
"We were leading 11 - 0 at half time and we were executing really well" said coach Brian McAuley "I'm not too sure what got into the defence, they just stop playing. Again it's an awareness thing, commitment and fitness which we will address that later."
The team is now 1 - 1 as they won their season opener in Hamilton by a score of 20 - 17. Next up they will travel to Barrie on June 1.
