Lambton College Soccer Receive OCAA Awards

The OCAA Men’s and Women’s Soccer Awards were announced recently and several Lambton College athletes were recipients.
On the women’s side, divisional honours were awarded to Defender Janelle McLean (Petrolia) of Lambton College as the “West Division Rookie of the Year”. Her strong play helped lift the Lions to a playoff berth. Janelle is first year BSCN student.
Jen Dienerch (Chatham) of Lambton was named the top goalkeeper of their in the West Division. Jen is a Therapeutic Recreation student.
Chelsea Wagner (Sarnia) and Amy Wilson (Lambton Shores) of were named to the West Division All Star Team.

Elliot Pecora (Sarnia) and Jeremy Wintjes (Chatham) of Lambton College were named to the OCAA Men’s West Division All Star Team. Elliot is first year ICET student while Jeremy is a first year Fire Science student.
Lambton’s Women's head coach, Kevin Simmonds, is the West Division Coach of the Year. Following a 1-3-4 record a season ago, Lambton improved to 4-3-1 under his watch, including a 3-2 win over West Division champion Humber.
Kevin is in his 10th year as Lambton’s Coach. He previously coached in the Corunna Wildcat’s system and is currently coaching the Sarnia Spirit’s U14’s. Kevin has also coached at Sarnia Collegiate.
Mr. Simmonds coached the Lions to a Final Four appearance in 2002 and a West Division title in 2008.
