It took overtime to decide the game winner in Friday nights game against the Petrolia Squires and Komoka Classics in WOAA Senior AA Hockey league. Komoka came out on top scoring the game winner in the fourth period to take the win with a final score of 4 - 3.
Jesse Drydak power play goal late in the first period gave the Squires the 1 - 0 lead at the end of the first. Scott McPhail and Kyle Crawford earned assists on the goal.
Second period action saw Komoka take a 2 - 1 lead with the first goal being scored on the power play by Alex Avery and Mike Findlater scoring the second.
In the third it was a back and forth affair with Shawn Waldie from Dan Veenema scoring to even things up. Komoka regained the lead four minutes later with Findlater scoring his second goal of the night. Norm Leger tied the game with 1:41 remaining. Veenema and Waldie earned assists. Score remained 3 - 3 sending the game into overtime where Drew Colison scored the winning goal for Komoka.
The Squires went one for four on power play opportunities, Komoka went one for three.
Chris Houle in net for the Squries made 44 saves on 48 shots. K.J. Robinson earned the win with a total of 47 saves on 50 shots.
The Squires are now sitting in 5th spot in the standings race with a record of 5-5-0-2. They are back at home on Friday November 29 when they host Clinton. Game time is set for 8:00 pm at the Greenwood Recreation Centre in Petrolia.
