On Friday October 4th the Lambton Jr. Sting Minor Midgets traveled to Windsor for game one in the home/home weekend series against the Jr. Spitfires. In the first game the two teams ended with a 1 - 1 tie.
Windsor scored the first goal at 10:03 in the first period by Anthony Salinitri and held on to that lead until 6:01 into the third when Tanner Harris scored for Lambton to tie the game with Alec DeKoning and Franco Sproviero assisting on the goal. Regulation time ran out and the two teams took a single point.
Lambton outshot Windsor 26-21. Nolan Hakr made 20 saves in net for Lambton, Lucas Diluca made 25 saves.
On Sunday October 5th the two teams were back in action at the RBC Centre in Sarnia for game two of the home/home series where Lambton edged out the Jr. Spitfires with a final score of 2 - 1.
Like the first game Windsor took the lead in the first period at 13:31 with Michael Douglas scoring for the Jr. Spitfires. After a scoreless second period Windsor remained in the lead. In the third Matthew Stevens scored the equalizer at 2:19 with John Fazio earning the assist. Less than a minute later Tanner Harris gave the Jr Sting the lead and what turned out to be the game winner with Ethan Dupont and Logan Scott picking up the assists.
Windsor outshot the Jr. Sting 27 - 16. Kaden Fulcher earned the win in net with 26 saves. Lucas Diluca made 14 saves for Windsor.
Lambton's league stats is 3-5-2 after 10 games. Next up the Jr. Sting is competing in the London Green & White Invitational Tournament, First game is 9:30 am on Friday Oct 11 against Brantford, then at 2:30 they go up against the Toronto Marlies. On Saturday they compete at 2:15 against the Clarington Toros and their final round robin game is at 7:00 pm on Saturday against Burlington.
