Vortex Red - Avengers Green

 

In the nightcap SMAA Peewee Football game the Optimist Club of Sarnia Lakeshore Vortex prevailed over the Cupe Local 1238 Avengers in a tough come from behind victory.  The Avengers scored the first major on a 9 yard touchdown run by Lucas Clubb.  A convert by Zachary Tremblay staked them to an 8-0 lead. 

 

With less than 2 minutes remaining in the half, Lucas Kita put the Vortex on the board with a 3 yard quarterback sneak.  The Avengers led 8-6 at the half.  Kita's second touchdown with less than 5 minutes remaining resulted in a 12-8 Vortex lead. 
 

The Avengers came roaring back and were driving down the field when time ran out which preserved a hard fought win for the Vortex.
