In Greater Ontario Jr B Hockey action Lambton Shores Predators dropped a 9 - 4 loss to the Chatham Maroons Tuesday night in Lambton Shores.
A power play goal at 6:26 by Ryan Fraser opened the scoring for the Preds with Ryan Trottier picking up the assist. Just under a minute later the Maroons answered back with Steven Szekesy scoring. Chatham went on and scored back to back power play goals both by Trevor Richardson. In the last minute of play John Warren scored to narrowed the gap for the Preds assisted by Steven Beenackers and Nick Sproveiro. First period ended with Chatham leading 3 - 2.
In the second Chatham scored four goals in the first ten minutes of the period. Recently traded to Chatham Kyle Brothers scored just :18 seconds into the period. Hayden Verbeek added the second and Michael Verboom scored back to back goals :41 seconds apart to give Chatham a 7 - 2 lead. The Preds continued to press and Bryan Boersma added the third goal on a power play assisted by Tanner Ferguson and Nick Sproveiro. Adam Arsenault scored the fourth and final goal for the Preds assisted by John Warren and Tanner Ferguson. With 12 seconds remaining in the period Chatham scored their third power play goal to take a 8 - 4 lead heading into the third.
In the third Chatham scored the only goal by Michael Verboom scoring his third of the night for a hat trick.
Chatham outshot Lambton Shores 28 - 23. Darien Ekblad went the distance for the Maroons with 19 saves. Justin Tugwell went one period for the Preds making 10 saves on 13 shots. Justin Fazio played 40:00 minutes making 9 saves out of 15 shots.
Predators went two for five on power play opportunities, Chatham went three for seven.
Lambton Shores record is now 0 - 3 and look for their first win on Saturday when they host LaSalle Saturday September 14 at The Shores Recreation Centre. Game time 7:30pm.
