Sarnia FC U11 Embark on Trip of a Lifetime

On August 18th, the Sarnia FC Italia Tour Team boarded the plane at Toronto's Pearson International Airport bound for Rome, Italy. The U11 boy's were very anxious to arrive and begin their two week venture in one of Europe's extreme soccer cultures.
Sarnia FC vs. Juventus
The Sarnia representative team participated in exhibition games versus some of the elite soccer academies throughout the different regions of Italy. The team also receive specialized training under some of the finest world renowned youth coaches in the country. The boys were exposed to a whole new level of soccer training and lifestyle in which the sport is almost compared to a sacred religion!
Along with the soccer training and games the boys also experienced the culture of this ancient country. The team also attended the opening day for Rome's professional team 'AS Roma'. That in itself was an experience that the kids would never forget. The hype, emotion and passion ripped through 'Stadio Olympico' as the Roma players were introduced for the first time this season! The Sarnia kids thoroughly enjoyed the event!

As the trip proceeded, the boys would compete very well against the Professional Youth Academies providing some strong competition versus their Italian counterparts. They wore the Sarnia FC jersey with pride displaying some creativity and passion of their own!

As coaches, we were extremely pleased with the level of competition and the training that our team received. The pitches, that our kids played our exhibition games on were literally professional fields. It was a very memorable and joyful experience ! Our team bonded throughout the venture and I personally witnessed tremendous smiles on all the kids faces. Hopefully we were successful in achieving "The Trip of a Lifetime!!"
