In the opening Game Wednesday night in SMAA Football action the Purdy Fisheries Storm continued their much improved play with an 18-6 victory over the Cupe Local 1238 Avengers 18-6.  Ethan Kerby was a 1 man wrecking crew for the Storm scoring all their majors on runs of 12, 14 and 45 yards.  Speedy Lucas Clubb scored the lone touchdown for the Avengers with a 49 yard dash up the middle.

The nightcap was a high scoring affair with both offences moving the ball very well.  In this match the Rob Simrak Magic Realty SkyFire put more points on the board than the Optimist Club of Sarnia Lakeshore by a score of 30-18.  Five touchdowns were scored in the first half alone, with Aiden Wildfong scoring on a 30 yard run and Isaac Kidd running into the end zone from 5 yards and 39 yards for the SkyFire.  Ryan Dennis and Colton Shepherd counted majors for the Vortex.  The teams split a pair of touchdowns in the second half with Jaxon Rawcliffe powering in from the 1 for the SkyFire and Jonah Wilson on an electrifying 72 yard dash for the Vortex.  Aiden Frew added a pair of 2 point converts for the SkyFire.
