Wallaceburg Lakers Continue to Struggle

The Wallaceburg Lakers continue to struggle after taking a 12 - 3 loss against Belle River Canadiens Wednesday night at home in Great Lakes Jr C Hockey league action.

 

Both sides were even at 1 apiece after the first period, then the wheels fell off the cart in the second as Belle River scored seven unanswered goals.  In the third the Canadiens added 4 goals, Wallaceburg scored 2.

 

Scott Lubbers, Ryan Gruszka and Frankie White scored for the Lakers.  Tyler Snyder, Brenden Crundwell each scored two goals for Belle River and singes by Branden Larocque, Mike Ditty, Hunter Corp, James Shelton, Connor Goodchild, JJ Percy, Jordan Luciw and Trevor Sparks.

 

Belle River outshot the Lakers 56 - 31.  Scott Tricker earned the win in net with 28 saves.  Wesley Hughson and Noble Jacobs share the spot between the pipes.  Noble made 9 saves on 12 shots, Hughson made 35 saves on 44 shots.

 

No penalties were recorded in the game.

 

The Lakers are looking for their first win as they fall 0 - 5.  Next up the team travels to Essex on Tuesday October 1 then a home game that will be played at Walpole Arena on Thursday October 3 against the Mooretown Flags, game time 7:30 pm.
