L-R Curtis Crombeen, Tyler Prong, Davis Boyer and Nathan MaterThe Sarnia Legionnaires announced their 2013-14 roster and Captains for the upcoming season Wednesday night at the Sarnia Arena.
"We have a great leadership group" Head Coach Dan Rose said. "The four kids that are captains have a presence about them that their team mates respect and the coaches have a good relationship with all the players. We are excited about our leadership group this year."
Wearing the "C" for the Legionnaires this season is Davis Boyer who will be wearing a new number 4 this season.. Assistant Captains named are Curtis Crombeen, Tyler Prong and Nathan Mater.
"It means a lot to me especially with this organization" Boyer said "It's a new group and it's kind of starting from scratch. The last couple of weeks but we can see that the guys are getting along and there's an excitement around the room."
There will be a strong local flavour to the team with a dozen players hailing from Sarnia-Lambton that includes six Sarnians, three Forest natives and one each from Watford, Petrolia and Port Lambton.
Playing up front on the forward lines are Nathan Mater, Josh Kestner, Davis Boyer, Ryan Vendramin, Riley Roberts, Riley Babkirk, Hunter Tyczynski, Bobby King, Cody Trowell, Jay Clarke, Brett Corrigan, Jordan Fogarty and Cody Slaght. On the Blueline is Curtis Crombeen, Tyler Prong, P.J. Vandervaart, Hayden Allen, Thomas Moxley and Mitchell Minder. In net will be Sean Parker and Brandon Palocz.
The Legionnaires home opener is tonight (Thursday September 5) against the Lambton Shores Predators. Game time is at 7:05 pm.
