Corunna Giants Edged out by Wyoming

The Corunna Giants were in Wyoming Thursday night for Western Counties Midget Baseball League play and the game was decided in the sixth inning and Corunna lost by a close 6-5 final.

Wyoming took a one run lead in the bottom of the second inning only to have the Giants tie things up in the third and in the fourth the Giants scored four runs to take a 5 - 1 lead.  Wyoming fought back and scored three in the fifth to narrow the gap to one then in the bottom of the sixth Wyoming scored two runs on an error to take the lead and stopped the Giants in the seventh for the win.

The Giants had a total of eight hits and five errors,  Wyoming had nine hits and two errors.

On the mound for Corunna Keenan Smith pitched two innings allowing three runs, four hits.  Kyle Smith pitched three innings allowing three hits one run and struck out three.  Jamie Devereaux recorded the loss after pitching one inning allowing two hits and two runs.

Devereaux was the top batter with three hits, a single and two doubles and one RBI. Zack Sutherland hit two singles, Jake Rompf hit one for two RBI's, Brett Farr batted in one on a single hit and Alex Machan had a single hit.
