Sarnia Sting General
Manager, Nick Sinclair is
pleased to announce that 3rd
round pick, Chase Campbell
has agreed to terms on a
Standard Player Agreement
with the Hockey Club.
Selected 55th overall in the
2014 OHL Priority Selection,
Campbell is an offensively
gifted player who plays with
a lot of grit. Last year,
Campbell recorded 72 points
in 31 games with the Minor
Midget Waterloo Wolves. The
5’8”, 170 lb forward was
impressive at Training Camp
in September, and has gotten
off to a great start with
the Waterloo Siskins of the
GOJHL (Jr. B) this season.
In 24 games played with the
Siskins, Campbell has 7G and
21A for 28 points as a
rookie. Campbell has found
the score sheet is 19 of his
24 career GOJHL games and
can be considered an
offensive threat each night.
Campbell has recorded at
least a point in his last 6
outings with the Siskins,
and has registered 10 points
over the course of his
streak.
Sinclair comments on the
Sting’s most recent signing,
“We are very pleased that
Chase and his family have
committed to the Sting
organization. Chase is a
skilled forward that brings
a very high level of
character and passion to our
hockey club, both on and off
the ice. He has had a
tremendous start to the
season in Jr. B and has
earned this opportunity. As
a group, we look forward to
working with Chase through
his development as both a
player and a student in the
classroom.”
With Vladislav Kodola
joining Team Belarus for the
World Junior Qualifying
Tournament this month,
Campbell is expected to play
his first career OHL game on
Friday night when the Sting
take on the North Bay
Battalion at home.
