Northern Seniors and LCCVI Juniors are LSSAA Girls Volleyball Champions

The LSSAA Girls Volleyball finals were played Friday night at Lambton College.

In the Senior Girls division the league leaders Northern Vikings (11-1) went up against the St. Patrick's Fighting Irish (7-5) who placed third in the regular season.  St. Pat's knocked out the number two seed St Francois-Xavier (10-2)  in the semi-finals to earn a spot in the finals.

In the regular season the two teams met twice and Northern won both games.  In the finals the Vikings continued the domination and took the championship in three straight sets with final scores 25-23, 25-17, 27-25.

In the Junior finals LCCVI Lancers and St. Pat's Fighting Irish the two top ranked teams went head to head. In the regular season both teams were tied with 16 points each (8 - 2) however LCCVI led in points for and against average to be ranked number one. In the regular season both teams tied winning one game apiece.

In an exciting final the Lancers took the first two sets 25-21, 25-17 but the Fighting Irish fought back and won the third set 25-27 that forced a fourth set where LCCVI earned the title by a score of 25-22.
