Sarnia Dropped Second Game to London

In London on Friday night for the game two of the home/home series the Sting dropped their second loss to the London Knights by a final score of  9 - 5.

The Sting with players out due to injuries and suspensions had 14 skaters on the bench.

Sarnia had a 2 – 1 lead after the first period of play, but the Knight’s dominated in the second and took an 8 – 4  lead heading into the third.  In the final period both sides scored singles.

Noah Bushnell scored two goals for the Stings and singles by Vladislav Koddola, Davis Brown and Nikolay Goldobin.  Jeff King had a three point night with three assists.

For London Owen MacDonald, Michael McCarron and Nikita Zadorov all scored two goals each and Matt Rupert, Alex Basso and Josh Anderson score singles.

Sting netminder Taylor Dupuis stopped 52 of 61 shots fired at him.  Jake Patters took the win making 28 saves on 33 shots.

Two of Sarnia’s goal came on the power play.  Sarnia had a total of seven power play opportunities.  London scored three on five opportunities.

The Sting are back in action on the Family Day holiday on Monday afternoon at 2:05pm hosting the Saginaw Spirit.
