LSSAA Sports Thursdays Highlights

Lambton County Secondary Sports Athletic Association (LSSAA) resumed action on Tuesday after time off from the Holiday Break and weather delays.

In Junior Girls Volleyball games LCCVI defeated St. Pat's 3 - 0 with scores 25-17, 25-15, 26-24.  Player of the Match for LCcvi was Megan McGrail and for St. Pat's Skyler Soininen.

North Lambton won 2 - 1 over SCITS in the second Junior Girls game. North Lambton lost the first game North Lambton won the first two games 25-11, 25-19 and the final SCITS took the win 25-17.  Player of the Match named for North Lambton was Abby Joris and Terrilyn Langis was named for SCITS.

In Senior Girls action North Lambton went 3 - 0 over SCITS with scores  25-20, 25-8, 25-6.  Aleisha Wierdels earned Player of the Match for North Lambton Reannah Hogarth was named for SCITS.

St. Pat's senior Ladies defeated LCCVI 2 - 1.  (26-24, 25-14, 20-25.)  Emily Peekham earned Player of the Match for St. Pat's and Lexine vanLeerzem was named for LCCVI.

In one other senior girls game St. Francois-Xavier defeated Northern 2 - 1.

In Boys action SCITS took a 43 - 29 win over North Lambton in Junior Boys Basketball.  Adam Waddell led SCITS scoring 15 points.  Mark Saint and Chris Courtemanche each scored 7.  For North Lambton N. Wilde scored 13 points and J. Kwarciak scored 12.

In Senior Boys basketball action SCITS reigned again with a 46 - 33 win over North Lambton.  Korey Conroy scored 16 points and Keenan Smith and Max Jantz each scored 8 for SCITS.  Top point getter for North Lambton and in the game was Sam Gordon with 18 points.

Boys Hockey resumed at Clearwater Arena on Thursday with Northern defeating North Lambton with a final score of 5 - 1.  Jason Braun scored the first goal with Ben Garrett and Blain Adams assisting.  Blain Adams recorded the second goal unassisted.  Third goal for Northern was scored by Reid Wilcox from Drew Morgan.  Liam Wright notched number 4 with Braedon Szeusz and Mackenzie Cloes earning the assists and Szeusz scored the final goal unassisted.  Ehtan Hunt earned the the win in net for the Vikings. 

North Lambton lone goal was scored unassisted by Byron Monague.
