2014 ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships® in Taipei City, Chinese Taipei.
Canadian Pairs Margaret Purdy and Michael Marinaro finished in 6th place overall at the 2014 ISU Four Continents Championship in Taipei.
The Pair finished 5th in the short program and 7th in the free skate for a combine total points 139.99. Canada's second pair, Natasha Purich and Mervin Tran finished in 5th.
Wenjing Sui and Cong Han of China remained in first place, followed by three American Pairs; Tara Kayne and Daniel O’Shea (2nd), Alexa Scimeca and Chris Knierim (3rd), and Haven Denney and Brandon Friazier (4th). China's Wenting Wang and Yan Zhang who were in fell to 7th place by .04 point difference below Purdy and Marinaro.
Margaret Purdy, 19, from Strathroy, Ont. represents the Watford FSC and Michael Marinaro, 22, from Sarnia, Ont. represents the Point Edward SC, the pair previously placed eighth at two of their international assignments this season, Skate America and Skate Canada International. Purdy and Marinaro also placed fifth at the 2014 Canadian Tire National Skating Championships. They are coached by Scott Rachuk and Alison Purkiss at the Competitive Skating Centre of Strathroy.
