Roy Mezzatesta and Dan Chopp are the week’s top bowlers in Lambton County Tenpin Association bowling activity as they recorded the high scores in the Border City Men’s League at Marcin Bowl.

Roy Mezzatesta rolled his career 5th perfect game in his first game on lanes 17 & 18. He then followed that performance in his second game with eleven strikes in a row, only to leave a solid 9 pin preventing him from bowling back to back perfect games. He finished the night with a 780 triple (300-299).   

Right handed bowler Dan Chopp tossed the high triple on lanes 21 & 22 finishing the night with a 789 (233-277-279) triple.

Brad Cook fired 771 (279-279) in Marcin Sunday Morning Men’s League competition. In Marcin Wednesday Night Mixed League play, the ladies’ were led by Cynthia Carroll 503 (200), Michelle Somers 473 (200) and Marnie McQueen 454. The men’s notable scores were Terry Mundy 669 (266), Gord Bayly 645 (237-235), Josh Kleinsmith 597 (244) and Pete Francoeur 550 (192-190). Team standings are Colorado Avalanche 21, The Thunderbirds 14, The Sting 12, Red Wings 12, The Bruins 10, The Canadiens 7, Blackhawks 6 and Maple Leafs 2.

Three Sarnia youth bowlers, Morgan Pelkie (Junior Division), Kira Pelkie and Rachel McGrath (Intermediate Division) participated in the Ivan Nelson Memorial scratch tournament in Toronto this past week to try win a spot on Team Ontario. After the first day of bowling, Morgan Pelkie finished 2nd in her division while Rachel McGrath finished 5th and Kira Pelkie 7th in their division. They all advanced to bowl the second day but failed to advance to the final day of bowling.

In Marcin Wednesday Night Ladies League action, leading scores were Melissa Crowe 647 (257-204), Cori Landon 642 (265), Rosemary Bouchard 585 (234) and Jocelyn VanEkeren 223. Team standings are Investors Group 260, Smiley Girlz 244, Lucky Seven 225, Split Decision 224, Team Eight 209, M.V.B’s 199, C.J’s 188 and New Front 182.

In Marcin National Farmers Union Mixed League activity, the women’s main scores were Carol Slaughter 438 (177), Diane Crawford 413 and Randy Raaymakers 162. The men’s top scores were Jamie Chad 578 (198-211),Ted Loxton 541 (211) and Joe Simmons 197. In Airey Lanes Thursday Ladies Happy Hour League fun, leading scores were Adwina Whitsitt 483 (177), Amanda Leitch 473 (191) and Bev Rankin 454 (183). Team standings are Frostie’s Snow Girls 110, Angel Babies 110, Ginger Bread House 99, Santa HOHO 85, Presents 76 and Rudolph 72.

In Airey Lanes Sunday Night Mixed League play, the ladies’ upper scores were Mary Bradburn 508 (197), Michelle Fraser 478 (178) and Pam Bullock 460 (185). The men’s top bowlers were John Adams 605 (200-208), Wilson Plain 551 (197), Roger Williams 528 (201) and Bill Smith 193.

In Marcin St. Joe’s Mixed League commotion, the ladies’ notable scores were Toni Verbeek 533 (193), Denise Walker 529 and Crystal Borody 519 (193). The men’s high scores were Jerry Borody 594 (202-201), Mike Woodall 555 (209), Joe Borody 202, John Walker 196 and Albert Verbeek 187.

In the Hi-Way Youth Senior division, the ladies’ top bowlers were Lorren Cook 445 (161-158) and Cassandra Tremblay 339 (132). The gents’ high rollers were Brett Zevenbergen 631 (259 - 94 pins over average), Connor Smith 553 (207) and Alex Pak 506.

In the Hi-Way Youth Intermediate division, the girls’ noted scores were Kyra Lester 415 (162) and Taelor Koundakjian 395 (149). On the boys’ side, upper scores were Colton Smith 421 (162), Robbie Graham 408 (149) and Aidan Coleman 383 (157).

In the Hi-Way Youth Junior division, the girls’ top rollers were Kaela Koundakjian 373 (139) and Isadora Tremblay 348 (122). The boys’ best scores were Nick Lapointe 480, Domenic Cocozzoli 478 (174), Devon Crowe 477, Cameron Verberg-Buchan 186 - 76 pins over average and Noah Best 174.

In the Hi-Way Youth Senior Preps division, the top bowler was Cole Barber 352 (124-121).

In the Hi-Way Youth Junior Preps division, MacKayla Beauvais took care of the girl’s high scores with 281 (111). On the boys’ side, noted scores were Brodie McKinley 331 (128), Riley Wagner-Gosselin 315 (119), Gavin Baillie 302 (124) and Blake Ingles 275.

In the Hi-Way Youth Bantams division, the girls’ notable scores were Kyleigh Beauvais Chad 266 (95-86), Tyleigh Winger 236 (86), Elsa McKinley 235 and Laurianne Tremblay 227. The boys’ high scores were Ben Boult 226 (82), Jake Coggins 225 (104), Alex Majeski 218 (82) and Zachary Ingles 183.

In the Marcin SMAA Youth Senior/Intermediate division, the ladies’ top scores were Kira Pelkie 595 (235 - 77 pins over average) and Rachel McGrath 553 (206). In the Marcin SMAA Juniors division, the girls’ main scores were Morgan Pelkie 522 (192-193), Cara Cullis 442 (162-170), Madison Kehler 398 (155) and Mikayla Durley 389 (178). The boys’ best scores were Joshua Trott 496 (218), Branden Riberdy 437 (186) and Lucas Pawley 395 (161).

In the Marcin SMAA Senior Bantams division, leading scores were Jordan Button 311 (123), Noah Gauthier 216 (79), Noah Leclair 192 (69) and Braeden Scott 180 (67).

In the Marcin SMAA Bumpers division, the top bumpers were Cameron Winter 158 (89) and Taylor Button 151 (77).
