The Alvinston Indians traveled to Glanworth on Wednesday evening for a make-up game with the Gators.
In the opening inning, after Glanworth starter Jake McKillop retired the first two batters, Jeff Lyons clubbed a home run over the centre field fence, to open up the scoring for Alvinston.
Meanwhile, Kyle Crawford was doing what he does on the mound for the Indians, as he allowed no runners on base through the first three innings of the game, including six striekouts. In the fourth inning with two out, Jake McKillop singled for Glanworth to end Crawford no-hit bid on the evening. The score after four complete innings was 1-0 for Alvinston.
In the fifth inning, a Jeff Lyons single with two out scored Joe Triest, for the game's second run. Glanworth then came to the plate in their half of the fifth, and had runners on first and second with one out, but they were unable to score. In the sixth inning, Glanworth had two base runners again, but just couldn't score.
In the seventh inning, Andy Triest hit an infield single for Alvinston, and advanced to third base via an errant throw to first base. Joe Triest then followed and hit an RBI single to score Andy for the game's third and final run. The final score was 3-0.
Crawford went the complete game for Alvinston, tossing all seven innings and earning the shutout victory. He allowed two hits and four walks on the evening, and recorded 15 strikeouts. Jeff Lyons and Andy Triest had multihit games for the Indians in the win, that pushed their record to 17-1 on the season. Bryan Johnson had two stolen bases for Alvinston in the win.
