The Corunna Giants downed Wallaceburg 6 - 3 in Western County Midget baseball league action at home on Monday night.

The Giants scored 3 runs in the first inning on an RBI single by Kyle Smith and a two-run single by Derek Williams. The Giants  added singles in the second, fifth and six.  Wallace scored 1 in the 4th and in a comeback attempt in the 7th added 2 runs.

Wallaceburg had 5 hits, 3 errors.  Giants had 7 hits and 2 errors.

Jake Rompf went 4 innings on the mound allowing 2 hits, 1 run, walked two and struck out 4.  Keenan Smith earned the save allowing 3 hits, 2 runs and striking out 3.

The Giants are back in action on Saturday July 26 when they host Woodslee at Courtright Park.  First pitch set for 1:00 pm.
