A team of young soccer players ages 11 – 13 arrived from El Salvador on June 27. The team are guests of the Sarnia FC and their visit was made possible through the support of Sarnia FC and families who through fundraising and planning helped make this possible. The team is being billeted with families members of Sarnia FC,
Many activities have been planned that included their participation with Sarnia FC teams in the Canada Day Parade. They will be attending training sessions and fun gatherings to watch the world cup. On Thursday the team along with three Sarnia FC teams made up from U11 to U13 players competed in a friendly mini tournament at Norm Perry Park. A visit to Lambton College has also been plan and then the team will travel to London for another friendly tournament and after they will then travel to Toronto to visit before flying home on July 14.
Sarnia FC has been involved with helping out the youth in El Salvador with donations of used soccer equipment, balls, jersys etc. and the two communities and have established a great relationship.
