Sarnia Junior Tennis Tour Recent Results

Sarnia-Lambton was well represented at the first two stops on the 2014 Little Caesars Junior Tennis Tour in Southwestern Ontario.

At the first stop in Amhertsburg on May 31, four (4) Sarnia-Lambton players participated with Sarnian Andrew Davies winning the 18-and-under boys event with an 8-4 (pro set) win over Evan Thibert of Chatham in the final. Mattias Mueller of Petrolia and Tristan Haagsma of Sarnia were second and third, respectively, in the 14-and-under boys event which was won by Luka Miokovic of LaSalle.

At the second stop in Chatham on June 7, five (5) Sarnia- Lambton players participated with Petrolia's Mueller improving upon his performance in the 14-and-under event with a 8-6 win over Haagsma in the final. Sarnia's Chandler Haagsma finished in third place in the same event. Davies came up short in his attempt to repeat his performance from the Amherstburg event with an 8-5 loss to Thibert in the final of the 18-and-under event.

Other Sarnia-Lambton juniors who participated in Chatham included Elise McInnis of Sarnia who placed 3rd in the 18-and-under girls event which was won by Ava Skuse of London and Griffin Allen of Petrolia who participated in the 18-and-under boys event but bowed out in earlier rounds.

The Little Caesars Tour continues in Sarnia (Sarnia Riding Club) on July 12 and concludes in London on July 27. All of the tournaments are one-day events generally with boys and girls 14s and 18s singles events. Players earn points at each event towards on overall season championship.
