Sarnia Beavers Take Easy Win over Brooklin Merchants

With a home game at the Point Edward Arena the Sarnia Beavers denied Brooklin Merchants their first win of the season (0-10) Saturday night by taking a 11 - 4 win in Ontario Senior B Lacrosse league action.

Sarnia went up 4 - 1 in the first period with goals scored by Michael Fleming, Jamie Pillon and final two by Chris Davey.
Brooklin's lone goal in the first was scored by Martin Whittaker.

In the second  Sarnia scored 3 and the Merchants added 2. For Sarnia Jesse Thompson and Jim Purves scored 2 the first on a power play and the second an empty net goal with 10 seconds remaining in the period.  Joe Mason scored both of the Merchants goal in the second.
 
In the final period the Beavers scored 4 more goals with Colin McDowal, Lance Ross, Michael Fleming and Jim Purves.  For the Merchants they scored once, the last goal of the game with Joe Mason scoring.
 
It was a tame game with only 5 penalties handed out.  Sarnia received 6 minutes in total on 3 infractions, Brooklin took 7 minutes on 2 infractions. 
 
Tye Belanger earned the win in net.  Shots on goal not available.

Sarnia is now 3 - 7 for the season and are sitting in 5th spot.  The team has 6 games remaining in their season.  They have two road games next week and go up against the Ennismore James Gane on Saturday June 21 and Sunday June 22 they face the Merchants.
