Sarnia Southwest Athletics Track & Field athletes recently competed at the Athletics Ontario Combined Events Championships & Prep Meet held at York University last weekend.
Jillian Drouin earned a Gold medal winning four of the seven events in the Senior Women’s Heptathlon with a score of 5455 points. Drouin placed fifth in the Open Women’s Long jump with a leap of 5.49 metres.
Other Sarnia members competing were Alexandra Coyle who took 1st place in the hammer, throwing 41.35 metres. Coyle also competed in the discus and toss 35.28 metres for 8th place..
Emily Campbell who earned a silver medal in the Youth Ladies Heptathlon with a score of 3944 points. McKayla Eves placed 6th in the 100 metre Hurdles with a time of 14.81 seconds and 25.03 in the 200 metre event for 10th place. In the Women’s Long Jump event Danielle Quinn jumped 5.27 metres to place 9th.
Sarnia Athletics Track and Field Club athletes will continue to train and compete preparing for the National Junior event being held in Montreal, QC and the National Senior in Moncton, NB and World Junior Track and Field Championships that will be held in Eugene, Oregon.
