The Sarnia Spirit won their last two league games of the season giving them a record of 14 wins and two ties to win the Under 17 Indoor Soccer League at the BMO Complex in London.
Sarnia defeated Middlesex United 5-0 as Katie Barwitzki scored two goals with singles by Chloe Kennedy, Cassie Forte, and Lauren Shaw. Cassidy Edlington with the shutout.
In their last league game of the season, the Spirit defeated Kensal Park 2-0 as Cassie Forte and Lauren Shaw scored the goals. Cassidy Edlington with the shutout.
Sarnia scored 65 goals in league play allowing only 13 goals in the sixteen games. Chloe Kennedy led the team with sixteen goals.
The U16 Spirit will now train indoors at LCCVI High School Gym on Monday's beginning March 17th, 24th, and 31st from 7.30 pm - 9.00 pm. Anyone interested in trying out for the team is welcome. There will be three outside tryouts beginning on Sunday April 13th at 3.00 pm at Sarnia girls Soccer Club Fields and Monday, April 14th and Wednesday, April 16th @ 6.15 pm. at the same location.
