The Northern Vikings swim team competed at OFSAA provincial finals in Brantford this past week and had some impressive swims, in fact, all swimmers made it into the finals or consolation finals in their events.
Leading the team with two top ten finishes in the Para Category was Koty Alkerton. Alkerton placed 6th in both the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle events.
Alkerton was the lone Para swimmer to compete from Lambton County.
The PARA category is designed to allow swimmers with a disability compete in this championship event.
Other Northern Viking results included Tanesha Cloud who swam the senior. girls’ 50 meter butterfly and placed 12th in the province. Ashley Klingbiel placed 5th in the junior girls’ 100 meter freestyle and the senior girls’ 200 freestyle relay placed 6th in the province. The team consisted of Tanesha Cloud, Ashley Klingbiel, Emily Houle, and Bronwyn Forsythe.
