Sarnia Bowlers Shine in Family Twosome Tournament

Bowling scores for week of March 22, 2014

The Lambton County Tenpin Association bowling report this week highlights four Sarnia bowlers who participated in the annual Joyce Wolgard Family Twosome Tournament held at Classic Bowl in Mississauga in February. The tournament gives youth bowlers an opportunity to win scholarship money to further their education.

Taelor Koundakjian, a fifteen year old Hi-Way Bowl Junior bowler, partnered with her mother Michelle Duguid (pictured left) in the Parent/Teen division. They won their division by beating out twenty other teams. They beat out the second place team from Windsor by 46 pins. Their team was 276 pins over average for 4 games. Taelor tossed her personal highest game of 239.

Nicole Emery, a fifteen year old Marcin SMAA Junior bowler, partnered with her adult partner, Susan McGrath, (pictured right) in the Adult/Teen division. They finished in 2nd place out of twenty-one entries losing to a London team. Their team was 234 pins over average for 4 games.

The Marcin Bowl Shoot Out took place on the extremely difficult PBA Cheetah oil pattern with 36 bowlers participating. Steve Lewicki defeated Rob Ladenchuk in the final game to win the tournament. The top 16 qualifiers for match play competition were Rachel McGrath 569 (255), Jim Creasor 561, Steve Lewicki 556 (207), Mike Shephard 554 (207), Kyle Adamson 552 (207), Jordan Croskery 552, Brad Cook 548 (227), Rod Honke 541 (225), Jim Burgess 524, Mel Kongus 521 (203), Dennis Ramsay 521, Jeff Raymond 521 (203), Rob Ladenchuk 520, Jason Lapointe 519 (210), Joe Borody 516 and Pam Marciniszyn 510. Dennis Ramsay fired 774 (269-258-247) in Marcin Monday Night Men’s League combat. In Marcin Sarnia Reserve Mixed League action, the ladies’ notable scores were Jo Ellen Beveridge 660 (216-248), Cid Bearhart 605 (246), Julie Young 509 (178) and Annette George 175. The men’s noted scores were John Adams 616 (255), Bill Smith 210, Matt Isaac 201 and Darren Adams 200.

In Marcin Sunday Night Mixed League play, the women were led by Patti Wyville 500 (204), Kathy Dafoe 486 (185) and Ruth Schwartzentrube 151. In Marcin St. Joe’s Mixed League fun, the ladies’ best scores were Crystal Borody 499 (201), Denise Walker 499 (188), Tonie Verbeek 497 and Laura Borody 488 (197). The men’s main scores were Joe Bourgeois 624 (207-224), Dave Long 505, Rick Anonymous 214, Mike Pevec 211-201 and Mike Woodall 202.

In Marcin Sunday Morning Ladies’ League activity, leading scores were Brenda Dennis 549 (196), Brenda Hawryluk 524 (186), Joy Timington 494 (212), Cheryl Millar 491 and Michelle Fraser 477 (191). Team standings are Aruba 70, Bora-Bora 62, Beach Bums 59, Bahama Moma’s 58, Jamaica 57, Vegas Bound 49, Bahli Girls 47 and Polmesian Skirts 33.

In Airey Lanes Thursday Ladies Happy Hour League action from a makeup week, top scores were Mary Bradburn 475 (177-174), Adwina Whitsitt 453 (194) and Bonnie Moulton 448. This week’s high scores were Pat Morrow 457, Bonnie Moulton 445, Kim Vanveldhuisen 444 (158), Sharon Scott 173 and Adwina Whitsitt 170. Team standings are Frostie’s Snow Girls 140, Ginger Bread House 135, Angel Babies 134, Santa HOHO 127, Rudolph 120 and Presents 88.

In Airey Lanes Sunday Night Mixed League play, the women’s high scores were Michelle Fraser 545 (208), Mary Bradburn 479 (181) and Bev Rankin 190. The gentlemen’s noted scores were Ken McLeod 556 (192-183-181), Ralph Noyle 521 (212), Terry Bradburn 507 and Wayne Rankin 191. Team standings are Muddy Waters 66, Mud Puppies 65, Mud Hens 59, Mudders Team 54, Mud Wrestlers 52 and Mighty Mud Slingers 40.

In the Marcin SMAA Youth Senior/Intermediate division, the ladies’ high scores were Kira Pelkie 499 (202), Laura Kameka 421 (151) and Rachel McGrath 186. The gents’ top scores were Brian Riberdy 521 (218), Jordan Croskery 207-207 and Colin Hanley 190.

In the Marcin SMAA Youth Juniors division, the girls’ upper scores were Cara Cullis 438 (154), Mikayla Durley 415 (147) and Gillian Webb 360 (142). The boys’ were led by Joshua Trott 608 (233-215), Aiden Osbourne 528 (175-212), Braden Riberdy 439 (177), Grant Remes 397 (167), Zachary Deuning 131 and Maximillian Michelucci 130.

In the Marcin SMAA Youth Preps division, the girls’ main scores were Hollie-Ann Jean 392 (143) and Caprice Hill 377 (157). The boys’ high scores were Jacob Bestard 462 (159), Jarrod Pelkie 355, Ethan Boucher 151, Ryan Kameka 126 and Jaden Gare 125.

In the Marcin SMAA Senior Bantams division, the best scores were Jordan Button 333 (116-124), Noah Leclair 242 (87), Braeden Scott 237 (88), Noah Gauthier 227 (89) and Mya Hanley 147 (60).

In the Marcin SMAA Bumpers division, noted bumpers were Taylor Button 157 (79-78), Olivia Quaid 141 (73), Brody Manley 140 (77) and Cameron Winter 132 (67).  

In the Hi-Way Youth Senior/Intermediate division, the ladies’ top scores were Kyra Lester 409 (160) and Cassandra Tremblay 389 (132). The gents’ upper scores were Connor Smith 584 (223), Alex Pak 570 (213-204), Brett Zevenbergen 562 (222), Colton Smith 476 (182), Aiden Coleman 414 (147) and Robbie Graham 410.

In the Hi-Way Youth Junior division, the girls’ notable scores were Shayla Crouse 404 (146), Isadora Tremblay 397 (159), Kaela Koundakjian 386 (150) and Paisley Wood 328. The boys’ high scores were Ben Lapointe 521 (179), Nick Lapointe 509 (179), Dalton Crowe 492 (213), Tyler Hoadley 465 and Jack Peckham 174.

In the Hi-Way Youth Senior Preps division, the girls’ were led by Katarena Vandeguchte 353 (128-121) and Emily Harris 336 (118-113). The boy’s best roller was Nic Peckham with 390 (147).

In the Hi-Way Youth Junior Preps division, the girls’ high scores were Amber Watson 395 (138-131), MacKayla Beauvais 278 and Lyndsay Amerlinck 263 (111). On the boys’ side, top shooters were William Laframboise 351 (143), Chad Crouse 342 (133), Gavin Baillie 312 (124) and Joe Stinson 285.

In the Hi-Way Youth Bantams division, the girls’ main scores were Laurianne Tremblay 266 (111), Elsa Mckinley 265 (98), Tyleigh Winger 241 (87) and Kyleigh Beauvais Chad 227. The boys’ noted scores were Bryce Watson 410 (148-142), Ben Boult 270 (117), Jake Coggins 178 and Zachary Ingles 160.
