The Sarnia Spirit played in Oshawa at the Frank Sobrel Tournament this past weekend. It was a warm up tournament for preparation for the league season which begins on May 17th in Stratford with the Kick Off Classic.
Sarnia played in the L1-L3 flight which included some of the better teams in the province. Sarnia lost their first game to Whitby 1-0 in a very close game. In game two, they defeated Burlington 2-0. Chloe Kennedy and Lauren Shaw scored with Cassidy Edlington earning the clean sheet. In game three, Sarnia defeated Oakville 1-0 on a goal by Cassie Forte. Edlington with the shutout. In semi final action, Sarnia lost to Oshawa 1-0 which was decided by a free kick in a very strong wind. Oshawa went on to win the tournament.
