The Sarnia Spirit U16 team played in the  WOYSL league opening tournament played in Stratford this past weekend.

Sarnia won their division by beating London Dragons FC 2-0. Goals by Kate Brady and Claire Vandeneynde and a shutout by Cassidy Edlington. They defeated London Southend 2-1 on goals by Kristy Hodgins and Lauren Shaw. Against Waterloo B, they won 1-0 on a goal by Lauren Shaw and a shutout by Cassidy Edlington.

In semi final action, Sarnia defeated Guelph 3-0 as Lauren Shaw, Kristy Hodgins, and Raegan Hayter scored the goals. Edlington with the shutout.  In the final, Sarnia lost to Waterloo A 1-0.

The Spirit U16 season opener is set for Sat May 24 in Waterloo.  Their home opener will be played on Wed May 28 at 6:45pm at Veterans Field against Southend United.
