Creasor, Crowe and Zevenbergen Roll Top Scores

                Jim Creasor, Melissa Crowe and Brett Zevenbergen were the top bowlers in Lambton County Tenpin Association action on the lanes this week.

                Creasor fired 836 (279-258-299 - uncooperative 10 pin) on lanes 23 & 24 in the Bluewater Men’s League at Marcin Bowl to record the LCTA highest triple this season. It was his career 15th 800 plus series and 2nd in LCTA bowling this season. His highest series is 868 (300-300-269) at the Ontario Provincial Tournament at Niagara Falls in 2008 when he rolled 31 consecutive strikes.  He also has 19 perfect games to his credit. He had a super season in the Bluewater Men’s League finishing the year with a 238 average. He also had a perfect game and three 299’s in LCTA action plus two 800’s and two 300’s in the Port Huron Tenpin Bowling Association this season.

Crowe tossed 685 (248) in the Wednesday Night Ladies League at Marcin Bowl to record the ladies high triple.  

Zevenbergen was the champion in the Marcin Bowl Youth Shoot Out tournament held on Tuesday night with bowlers participating on the difficult sports shot “Chameleon” oil pattern. Twenty-four bowlers, twelve from Hi-Way Bowl and twelve from Marcin Bowl, took the challenge with three qualifying games. The top eight qualifiers, who happened to be four from each bowling alley, for match play competition were Rachel McGrath 612, Jordan Croskery 575, Ben Lapointe 536, Justin Zonneville 529, Brett Zevenbergen 523, Noah Best 510, Alex Pak 499 and Morgan Pelkie 497. Brett Zevenbergen, from Hi-Way Bowl defeated Rachel McGrath, from Marcin Bowl, 179-175 in the final match to win the tournament. Jordan Croskery captured third place and Noah Best was fourth. Another Marcin Bowl Youth Shoot Out tournament will be held on Saturday May 24th at 2 PM. There will be two divisions based on final averages from this year. The “Cheetah” oil pattern will be used in this tournament.

Mike Shephard hurled 760 (245-269-246) in Marcin Monday Night Men’s League closing tournament combat. He was trailed by Jeff Raymond 734 (233-267-234), Jim Lapointe 725 (245-243-237), George Reid 719 (289), Dennis Ramsay 710 (279), Roy Mezzatesta 706 (237-246), Bill Ridealgh 703 (243-235), Jim Burgess 660 (233), Kevin Schofield 657 (236-248), Brian Long 264, Steve Ferreira 264, Bob Spence 257, Peter English 254, Brian Watson 246, Terry Spence 244, Mel Matthews 238, Jay Chipman 235, Louie Willemsen 232 and Jean Guy Morin 232. We’re Wired Two won the tournament bowling 2848. The winning team members were Mark Colbran, Dennis Lussier, Doug Marr, Roy Mezzatesta, Nick Montague and Terry Spence. They were shadowed by Marcin Bowl Pro Shop 2822, Best Automotive 2821, Team Outfitters 2754, Monteith/Sutherland 2746, Wired 2710, Danbury Homes 2709, Gutterballs Restaurant 2683, Lamsar 2656, Marcin Bowl 2649, RJ Rau & Associates 2646 and The Maggots 2420. The Marcin Bowl Pro Shop team consisting of Thomas Clarke, Mike Jones, Mel Matthews, Dennis Ramsay and Matthew Thompson won the regular season championship.

Mel Matthews fired 757 (234-233-290) in Marcin Sunday Morning Men’s League closing tournament competition. He was followed by George Reid 751 (279-246), Kevin Lyon 729 (279-236), Steve Peters 718 (278-246), Larry Plumb 717 (299 - 3rd game - ringing 4 pin - lanes 13 & 14 - it was his 3rd 299 this year), Steve Lewicki 703 (259-249), Jeff Raymond 699 (232-253), Justin Romanik 696 (264), Kyle Adamson 694 (236-247), Roy Mezzatesta 689 (259), Jim Lapointe 680 (234-235), Bill Ridealgh 679 (264), Brad Cook 678 (233-245), Corey Willemsen 669 (246), Dennis Ramsay 268, George Rogers 266, Jamie Ridealgh 246, Joe Serratore 244, Bill Croskery 242, Louie Willemsen 237, Kyle Skinner 237, Ralph MacDuff 236,Tom Ladenchuk 235, Jay Chipman  235, Bill Best 234 and Jerry Worsley 233.  Micor Sports won the tournament rolling 3767.The winning team members were Dave Jones, Larry Plumb, George Reid, George Rogers and Tom Stokes. They were pursued by Mike’s Hairstyling 3749, Team Outfitters 3730, Crossroad - Cl 3728, Marcin Bowl Pro Shop 3719, Jacobs Industrial Services 3703, Courtright Variety 3629, Cargill 3565, The Leaky Tank 3563, Alliance Fab 3433, Little Caesar’s 3378 and J & K Construction 3285.The Marcin Bowl Pro Shop team consisting of Doug Black, Brad Cook, Calvin Nesbitt, Dennis Ramsay and Jeff Raymond won the regular season championship.

Pat McMillan rolled 719 (269-246) in Marcin Border City Men’s League closing tournament rivalry. He was stalked  by Jordan Croskery 704 (278), Roy Mezzatesta 696 (238-232), Dan Chopp 686 (247), Kevin Matthews 663 (247), Mark Colbran 659 (244), Shane Chipman 657 (230-238), Dom D’Alessandro 258 - 81 pins over average, Rod Honke 248, Paul Mezzatesta 246, Doug Booth 245, Dan Vandermeer 237, Mel Kongus 235 and Brett Matthews 232. Lola’s Lucky Lounge won the tournament tossing 2683. The winning team members were Carmen Bressette, Tim Hutton, Kevin Storozuk and Dan Vandermeer. They were followed by Sarnia Produce 2679, Lambton Metal Services 2627, Lehder 2627, TSM Mechanical 2568, Bayshore Home Health 2510, W. J. Barnes Ltd. 2498, Up Rite Door Ltd. 2481, Marcin Bowl Two 2449, Marcin Bowl 2421, Paddy Flaherty’s Irish Pub 2416 and The Four Tight Spins 2315. The Sarnia Produce team consisting of Doug Booth, Paul Mezzatesta, Pat McMillan, Stephane Sirois, Don Tomlinson and Dean Troiani won the regular league championship.

 Alex Pak rolled 668 (243-223 - 176 pins over average for three games) to record the youth high triple in the Senior division at Hi-Way Bowl.

Topping off the scores from the Marcin Bluewater Men’s League were Dave Willson 697 (254-237), Joe Csercsics 651 (243-226), Ken Nimmo 650 (243), Pete Dufault 643 (256-220), Connor Smith 618 (235-228), Harry Hassett 586, Rick Jatel 586, Jarret Wilcox 234, Shawn Park 223 and Bill Sullivan 188. Final team standings are ODS Printing 202, Abram Refrigeration 193, Jerry’s TV 190, Napa Auto 169, Ligate Signs 165 and Northgate Home Hardware 151.

In Marcin Thursday Night Men’s League exploits, notable scores were Jean Lacroix Jr. 682 (235-244), George Reid 672 (220-224), Mel Matthews 671 (238-244), Jean Guy Morin 664 (265), Larry Plumb 653 (226-223), Jim Lapointe 638 (223), Jeff Raymond 632 (246), Alex Matena 257, Mel Kongus 235, Don Tomlinson 225, Bill Best 224, Scott McCormick 223-220, Peter MacRae 222 and Jordan Cote 220. Morlo Yardscapes won the first half while D & D Flooring Installations won the second half. In the league’s closing week, D & D Flooring Installations won the league overall championship. Team members were Gerry Landon, Jim Lapointe, Jason Lapointe, Mel Matthews, George Reid, Don Tomlinson and Brian Watson. In Marcin Thursday Night Mixed League action, the ladies’ upper scores were Pam Marciniszyn 647 (224), Meghan Monk 545 (235 - 82 pins over average), Bridget Smiley 502, Penny Geerts 498, Marsha Pinel 189 and Denise Harrington 181. The men’s high scores were Butch Wilson 660 (225), Shane Chipman 627 (246), Tyler David 612 (246), Buck McIver 570, Lloyd Walling 235, Bob Vance 216 and Harry Hassett 211. The men’s high shooters were James Belton 669 (247-223), Larry Plumb 638 (258), Joe Borody 627 (217), Brian Core 621 (245), Quincy VanEkeren 621 (226), Jordan Cote 613 (226), Shawn Lefebvre 583 (234), Steve Brander 244 - 85 pins over average, Derick Wilker 214 and Jordan Millier 197. In Marcin Wednesday Night Mixed League fun, the women’s high scores were Barb Clements 556 (222-182), Cynthia Carroll 531 (202), Michelle Somers 501 (183), Marnie McQueen 497 (191), Diane Fletcher 470 (186) and Aimee Gauthier 428 (170). The men’s top scores were Bob McQueen 660 (235-232), Andre Dion 649 (233-229), Josh Kleinsmith 630 (221-221), Tom Colbran 620 (236), Gord Bayly 614 (231) and Sandy Paine 575 (220). Team standings are Colorado Avalanche 80, The Sting 67, The Thunderbirds 65, The Bruins 58, The Canadiens 51, Blackhawks 47, Red Wings 46 and Maple Leafs 35.

Rounding out the scores in the Marcin Wednesday Night Ladies league were Dawn Pelkie 574 (222), Denise Walker 524, Carol Jean 513 (218), Patti Wyville 512, Jocelyn VanEkeren 189 and Wendy Lapointe 188. Final team standings are Lucky Seven 411, Split Decision 391, Investors Group 384, M.V.B’s 381, New Front 359, Team Eight 351, Smiley Girlz 347 and C.J’s 303.

In Marcin National Farmers Union Mixed League activity, the ladies’ main scores were Randy Raaymakers 498 (188) and Glenda Pederson 425 (155). The men’s best scores were Joe Simmons 629 (225-245), Mike Hawryluk 559 (190) and Ted Loxton 551 (190). Team standings are Off Constantly 61, Euchred 55, The Big Bang Theory 53, The Beer Buddies 52, The Unperdictables 37 and Up Alley 26.

In Marcin Sunday Night Mixed League action, the women’s noted scores were Cori Landon 549 (189), Patti Wyville 481 (177) and Kathy Dafoe 473 (178). The men’s upper scores were Cleve Kameka 598 (200-207), Joe Winger 569 (200), Jon Maillett 551 (204), Fabio Caporale 474 (182), Jarrod Petrany 231 and Josh Boyce 198. Team standings are The Troopers 157, Keep Calm & Bowl On 152, Kathy’s Clowns 146, Glenn- Fab 146 and Bourne Identity 135.

Topping off the gents’ scores in the Hi-Way Youth Senior division final week were Connor Smith 607 (223) and Brett Zevenbergen 606 (213). The ladies’ top scores were Lorren Cook 456 (154-152) and Cassandra Tremblay 437 (175-155). 

In the Hi-Way Youth Intermediate division, Kyra Lester took care of the ladies upper scores with 521 (196).  The gent’s best bowler was Robbie Graham 336 (114-114).

In the Hi-Way Youth Junior division, the girls’ main scores were Isadora Tremblay 516 (195-202 - 75 pins over average, Shayla Crouse 431 (156), Kaela Koundakjian 414 (204 - 82 pins over average) and Paisley Wood 412. The boys’ were led by Ben Lapointe 554 (197-185), Seth Hicks 455, Dalton Crowe 450 and Noah Best 447.

In the Hi-Way Youth Senior Preps division, the girls’ noted scores were Katarena Vandeguchte 346 (133-120) and Emily Harris 334 (121-118). The boys’ top scores were Cole Barber 465 (160-160) and Nic Peckham 424 (177).

In the Hi-Way Youth Junior Preps division, the girls’ high scores were Amber Watson 419 (150-181 - 72 pins over average) and Lyndsay Amerlinck 213. The boys’ notable scores were Brodie McKinley 398 (157), William LaFramboise 339 (129), Gavin Baillie 306, Chad Crouse 301 and Alex Bourassa’s 121 single.

In the Hi-Way Youth Bantams division, the girls’ leading scores were Tyleigh Winger 271 (101), Laurianne Tremblay 252 (93), Lily Stinson 242 (102) and Elsa McKinley 188. The boys’ main scores were Bryce Watson 364 (132-124), Jake Coggins 292 (139), Alex Majeski 256 and Zachary Ingles 179.
