The Lambton Sting minor
bantams went 1-1 over the
weekend falling to Windsor
4-1 Saturday before beating
Chatham 4-2 on Sunday.
Nolan DeGurse scored the
only Sting goal in the loss
to the Spitfires with Carter
Kiriakakos and Bryce Twohey drawing
the assists.
On Sunday the Sting fell
behind 1-0 before DeGurse
and Cameron Ware broke in on
a 2-on-1 midway through the
second period. After a
couple of nice passes
between the two of them
DeGurse converted to even
the game at 1. Twohey
would put the Sting ahead
2-1 with a goal 9 minutes
into the third period.
Defenseman Wesley Griffiths
got the assist on the
marker. After Chatham tied
the game a little over a
minute later the Sting
regained the lead for good
on DeGurse's second goal of
the game assisted by Nick
Steeves. Hunter Monkhouse
added an unassisted
empty-netter to secure the
4-2 victory. Liam McCarthy
made 35 saves in the Lambton
net to record the win.
