Sarnia Lady Sting Midget A Shut Out by Wildcats
wednesday november 19, 2014
The Sarnia Lady
Sting Midget A hosted the
Woodstock Wildcats on Sunday
Nov.16th at the RBC Center.
The Lady Sting fresh off a
Tournament win the previous
weekend in Rochester New York,
started the game a little
sluggish and seemed to be
fighting the puck.
Woodstock would open the scoring
on a goal deflected off the
referee beating the Sarnia
Goalie to take the 1-0 lead. The
Lady Sting picked up the pace in
the 2nd period, but was unable
to capitalize on any scoring
chances. Woodstock would score
their 2nd goal of the game on
another deflection to take a 2-0
lead heading into the 3rd
period.
The Lady Sting never seemed to
get their legs under them and
continued to struggle late into
the 3rd, when they pulled their
goalie for an extra attacker.
Woodstock would score into the
empty net with 36 seconds
remaining to secure the 3-0 win.
The Sting will attempt to get
back in the win column on
Wednesday night, when they
travel to Strathroy to take on
the Bluewater Hawks.
