Lambton Minor Atoms went 1 and 1 in Weekend Action
monday november 3, 2014

On Saturday the Jr Sting Minor Atoms AAA team were in Hamilton and suffered a 9 - 0 loss.

“After almost defeating Hamilton less than 6 days ago, we came up with our worst performance of the year,` Head Coach Cory Pageau said  ``Halloween the night before must have caught up with the boys.  We have to turn the page and focus on London tomorrow.”

And turn the page they did as the Jr. Sting defeated London in a close contest that ended with a final scored 4 - 3.

“Great bounce back game. Less than 24 hours after our worst game of the year the boys fought and worked their way to their best effort of the year.`` Pageau said.

Tanner Winegard led the Jr. Sting scoring 2 goals in the game with singles by Aaron Shanks and Isaac Oliphant.

Assisting on the goals were Lucas Gaspari, Evan Morningstar (AP), Adam Osler, Tanner Winegard, Garrett Pearce, Ryan Pageau and Nolan Mumford.

Cater La Rocque earned the win in net.

``Solid goaltending from La Rocque and our defence played as tough as I have seen.  Our forwards battled along the boards and had their feet moving all game.  We took some penalties, but we did not give the skilled London team any time or space.  Very proud of the boy’s effort tonight!”
