The
Lambton Jr. Sting Minor
Atom AAA team suffered a
pair of losses over the
weekend in Alliance
Hockey League play.
In their first game at
home the Huron Perth
Lakers took a solid 8 -
3 win.
“Not a strong effort
from the boys today."
Head Coach Corey Pageau
said. "We will need to
increase our compete
level if we want to
challenge for games.”
Jaxon Priddle scored two
goals for Lambton with
Adam Maitland adding a
single. Assisting
on the goals were Tanner
Winegard, Cameron
McCarthy, Garrett Pearce
and Ryan Vidler.
Hardest worker awards
were presented to Adam
Maitland and Garrett
Pearce.
On Sunday in their
second home game on the
weekend the team hosted
the Sun County Panthers
and lost with a final
score of 8 - 5.
Tanner Winegard led the
Jr. Sting in scoring
with three goals.
Ryan Pageau and Jaxon
Priddle each scored one.
Landon Buckinham picked
up three points in the
game after assisting on
all three goals.
Luke Doan was the helper
on two goals and Bo
Doxtator, Nolan Mumford
and Cameron McCarthy
assisted on one.
Hardest worker awards in
this game went to Ryan
Pageau, Landon
Buckingham and Tanner
Winegard.
“Showed we can play with
the top AAA teams in the
Alliance." Pageau said
"However we need to
minimize the number of
scoring chances we are
currently giving up.
The boys are averaging
over 5 goals a game so
if we start to tighten
up defensively we should
start to see more wins.”
The Minor Atoms are back
in action this coming
weekend with a home game
on Saturday October 4th
at noon against the
Waterloo Wolves.
On Sunday the team
travels to Cambridge for
their first away game of
the season.
