The Lambton Minor
Midgets suffered
their second
Alliance league loss
on the weekend after
losing to the Sun
County Panthers 6 -
1 on Sunday
afternoon at the RBC
Centre.
The Panthers took a
3 - 0 lead after the
first period and
never looked back.
They went on and
added two in the
second and one in
the third.
Lambton's lone goal
came in the second
period by Eric
Cardinal from Ben
Schoch and Conner
Royer.
Scoring for Sun
County were Blake
Bain and Brayden
Klemens both with
two and singles by
Tyler Trepanier and
Mitchell Crevatin.
No penalties were
called in the first
period however in
the second Lambton
had to battle
shorthanded for
eight minutes on
four infractions,
Sun County was given
one two minute
penalty. In
the third Lambton
again had to battle
back shorthanded
after taking ten
minutes on five
infractions and Sun
County took a two
minute on one
infraction.
Lambton went
scoreless on two
power play
opportunities, Sun
County scored once
on nine
opportunities.
The Panthers outshot
the Jr Sting 30 -
11.
Chaska Theil
suffered the loss
turning away 24
shots, Patrick
Timpany earned the
win making 10 saves.
The Jr. Sting record
is 1 - 8 - 1 for the
season and they
return to action on
Thanksgiving Weekend
competing at the
Wendy Dufton
Tournament in
London. The
Minor Midgets return
to league action on
Saturday October 18
when they travel to
Hamilton then return
home on Sunday for
an afternoon game
beginning at 1:30 pm
against the
Cambridge Hawks.
