Avengers and Buzz Saw's Take Wins in SMAA Peewee Football

Football Peewee division were in
action on Wednesday night at
Norm Perry Park.
The Vidal
Pharmacy Buzz Saw and the Rob
Simrak Magic Realty Sky Fire
hooked up for a very competitive
game involving two evenly
matched teams. The Sky Fire
opened the scoring on a 32 yard
run by the speedy Jackson
Grasse. The Buzz Saw replied
with a 55 yard dash by
quarterback Luke LaLonde.
The scored remained unchanged
for the remainder of the half as
the teams entered the break
knotted at 6. Turnovers plagued
both offences in the second half
and many huge defensive plays
took place by both teams which
minimized the scoring.
The Buzz Saw finally pushed the
ball over the goal line on a 3
yard run by Rob Persichetti who
ran hard up the middle for
important yards all game. Luke
LaLonde converted this major.
Both defences stood tall the
remainder of the game as the
Buzz Saw moved into second place
with a 14-6 victory.
The Lanxess
Avengers scored a touchdown
every quarter enroute to a 28-0
win over the Robinson Design and
Drafting Vortex. These majors
were spread out over 4 players,
a 24 yard reverse by Dray
Pepper, a 54 yard run by Lucas
Kita, a 38 yard gallop by
Nicholas Vacek and a 20 yard
pass completion by Vacek to
Joshua Graham. Vacek converted
2 of these touchdowns. The
Vortex moved the ball well at
times with most of their success
occurring on hard runs up the
middle.
