The Legionnaires increased
their undefeated season to
eleven games in Greater
Ontario Jr B Hockey action
after they marched over the
Thorold Blackhawks in a 11 -
1 win.
Lucky #13 Davis Boyer who
now leads the league in
scoring (10G, 6A, 16 Points)
scored his first two
unanswered goals in the
first both on power plays
and never looked back.
He went on and scored the
first of six goals in the
second period and
scored all three goals in
the third. Boyer also
assisted on two goals to
tally a total of eight
points in the game.
Riley Babkirk scored two
power play goals in the
second along with singles by
Brad Campbell, Cody Trowell
(short handed) and the final
goal by Kyler Keating
on a power play.
Babkirk also assisted on two
of Boyers goals to give him
a total of four points.
Single assists were earned
by Cody Trowell, Jordan
Fogarty, Bobby King, PJ
Vandervaart and Tyler Prong.
Hunter Johnson was denied
the shutout just over the
midway point in the second
when Nick Giacola scored the
loan goal for Thorold.
Sarnia went five for nine on
the power play, Thorold was
shut out in seven
opportunities.
Sarnia outshot Thorold 57 -
30. Johnson earned the
win making 29 saves.
Ian Shorthouse went the
distance for Thorold turned
away 46 shots.
Sarnia will continue to
strive for perfection on
Thursday October 16, when
they face off against St.
Mary's at the Sarnia Arena
with a 7:10 pm puck drop.
