The Sarnia Lady Adam B team
competed against the Bluewater
Hawks in a home/home series over
the weekend.
On Saturday Oct. 11 at the RBC
Centre Sarnia defeated the Hawks
with a final score of 3 - 2.
The Hawks got on board first but
the Lady Sting answered back and
tied the game. In the
second period Sarnia scored two
unanswered goals to take the 3 -
1 lead. In the third the
Hawks closed the gap but the
Lady Sting held on to earn the
win.
Scoring for Sarnia were Teagan
Cox, Heather McIntosh and Lauren
Jackson. Assisting on the goals
were Felicia Park, Kaitlyn Handy
and Robyn Storey.
Scoring for Bluewater were
Janessa Diebold and Jillian
Milligan.
Peyton Burgess was outstanding
in net in the win making key
saves that included a breakaway
glove save.
In the second game on the
weekend the Lady Sting traveled
to Strathroy and came away with
a 2 - 2 tie.
Bluewater had a 2 - 1 lead
heading towards the end of the
game but was denied the win
after Teagan Cox scored
unassisted with ten seconds left
on the clock to tie the game.
Robyn Storey scored the first
Lady Sting goal assisted by
Heather McIntosh.
Lindsay Stanton and Emma Ferber
scored for Bluewater.
The Lady Sting are in first
place in the West Division of
the Lower Lakes Hockey league
with a record of 2-0-1.
Up next the Ladies will travel
to Etobicoke to compete in the
Pink the Rink Tournament.
They will face North York,
Brampton and North Bay in round
robin action.
