Minor Bantam Jr Sting AAA Blank Brantford
monday October 20, 2014

The Lambton Sting Minor Bantam’s shut out Brantford 5-0 in their only game of the weekend.  After a scoreless first period and most of the second the Sting exploded with 3 goals in a span of just under 4 minutes late in the second stanza.  The team played a strong defensive game in front of goaltender Liam McCarthy, who stopped all 25 shots he faced for his second shutout of the season.

Brandon Neelin opened the scoring with a shot from the point following a nice feed from Bryce Twohey.   Hunter Monkhouse made it 2-0 with Elijah Duquette and Wes Griffiths drawing the assists.  33 seconds later Twohey scored to increase the lead to 3-0 as Griffiths earned his second helper of the game.

The Sting would get 2 more goals in the third period.  First it was Nick Steeves who lit the lamp with assists going to Duquette and Jacob Rochford.   Rochford rounded out the scoring with a goal assisted by Twohey.

The Sting have 2 games next weekend as they host Cambridge on Saturday at 3pm at the RBC before travelling to Komoka on Sunday to face the Elgin Middlesex Chiefs.
