The Sarnia
Firefighter's
Association
Razor Claws got
off the mark
quickly in their
game with the
Sylvan Learning
Centre Firebolts
by scoring 4
first half
touchdowns.
These majors
were counted by
Parker Wyan with
2 and singles to
Tyler Hopwood
and Reilly
Dumond. Defense
was the order of
the day in the
second half with
only 1
touchdown, that
by quarterback
Jack Vozza of
the Claws.
The Steeves and
Rozema Shock
Wave evened
their record at
1-1 with a 24-0
win over the
Royal Canadian
Legion Branch 62
Iron Hides. All
points were
counted in the
first half as
Connor Cini
scored three
majors and Tyler
Kerby a single.
In the second
half, both
defenses
stiffened. The
Hides began
moving the ball
consistently on
runs by Nathan
Tremblay.
Bantam
Division
The first Bantam
game pitted the
strong running
of the Sarnia
Police
Association
Tiger Sharks
against the
speed of the
Optimist Club of
Sarnia Lakeshore
Grizzlies. The
teams traded
touchdowns in
the first half
with Cole Rogers
and Dylan
Gallant taking
it to the house
for the Sharks
with Matt Kirk
and Jackson
Smiley scoring
for the
Grizzlies.
Garrett
Patterson
converted Kirk's
touchdown and
Dylan Gallant
both of the TD's
for the Tiger
Sharks. In the
second half the
power running of
Gallant, Rogers
and the
energized James
Archer began to
wear down the
Grizzly defense.
Archer and
Gallant broke
the plane of the
goal line for
the Sharks with
Gallant
converting both
majors for a
32-14 Tiger
Shark victory.
The final game
pitted the two
undefeated
Bantam teams
against each
other as the
Mammoet Crane
Incorporated
Mammoths tackled
the Mechanical
Contractor's
Association
Toros. This was
a very
entertaining
game as two
evenly matched
teams traded the
lead on numerous
occasions.
Brett Riley got
the Toros on the
board first with
a 5 yard run and
Matthew Dunn's
convert gave the
Toros and 8-0
lead. Joel Card
replied for the
Mammoths on a 5
yard run and
Justin Cain's
convert knotted
the game at 8.
Riley scored his
second major of
the game on the
ensuing
possession and
Dunn's
conversion
increased the
Toro lead to 8
once more. Joel
Card replied for
the Mammoths on
a 102 yard
scamper and
Cain's convert
again tied the
game, this time
at 16. Brett
Riley reached
the end zone one
more time before
the half, giving
the Toros a
22-16 lead at
the break. On
the Mammoth
first possession
of the second
half, Mitchell
Hillsdon rumbled
in from the 1
and Cain's
convert gave the
Mammoths their
first lead at
24-22. Riley's
fourth touchdown
of the game and
Zachary
Tremblay's
convert restored
the Toro lead.
The final major
of the game was
counted by the
speedy Joel
Card. A
successful
convert by
Hunter Hendrie
earned the
Mammoths a hard
fought 32-30
victory.
