The Lambton Minor Atom AAA team sponsored by the Sarnia Sting
were Finalist at
the Rumble on
the Rink
Tournament held
in Detroit
Michigan over
the weekend.
In their first game on Friday they suffered a 7 – 1 loss
against Orland
Park from
Chicago.
“Came out strong
in first period,
but could not
buy a goal.”
Head Coach Cory
Pageau said “A
couple of
defensive
breakdowns and
we found
ourselves down
by 4 goals after
2 periods and
just couldn’t
get on track.”
Tanner Winegard
scored the lone
goal assisted by
Luke Doan.
Carter La Rocque
took the loss in
net.
Team Awarded
Aaron Shanks,
Tanner Winegard
and Ryan Vidler
as Hardest
Workers in the
game.
On Saturday the team came out strong and defeated the London
Jr. Knights
Green team with
a final score of
7 – 2.
“Great rebound game. Kids played an all around good game. “

Tanner Winegard and Cameron McCarthy each scored two goals in
the game with
singles by
Garrett Pearce,
Aaron Shanks and
Luke Doan.
Helpers on the
goals were Ryan
Pageau with
three assists
and Aaron
Shanks, Jaxon
Priddle and Adam
Osler each
assisted twice.
Ryan Vidler,
Lucas Gaspari,
Garrett Pearce
and Nolan
Mumford added
singles.
Caiden Smit
earned the win
in net.
“Good goaltending, good puck movement and a high level of
intensity
resulted in a
convincing win.”

Hardest workers in this game was awarded to Ryan Pageau and
Jaxon Priddle.
In the third game of the tournament and second of the day the
Jr. Sting were
not put to the
test by the
Toledo Cherokee
and took an easy
21 – 0 win.
“Tough game to play as Toledo was not up to the challenge.”
Pageau said “I
was proud of the
players as they
worked hard, but
did not over
celebrate and
looked to set up
teammates who
had not scored.”
Jaxon Priddle led in scoring with four goals, Arron Shanks,
Tanner Winegard
and Adam Osler
each scored
three and Adam
Maitland two.
Scoring singles

Gaspari, Ryan
Vidler, Isaac
Oliphant, Landon
Buckingham and
Garrett Pearce.

In the final Championship game the Jr. Sting had a rematch
against
Chicago’s Orland
Park Vikings but
were denied once
again as the Jr.
Sting took
second after
losing with a
final score of 6
– 4.
Cameron McCarthy led the Jr. Sting in scoring with two goals
and singles by
Adam Osler and
Aaron Shanks.
Jaxon Priddle assisted on two goals with Isaac Oliphant,
Nolan Mumford,
Ryan Pageau,
Garrett Pearce
and Tanner
Winegard each
earning a point
in the game.
Caiden Smit earned the win in net.
“Came up just short.” Coach Pageau said after the game “Good
effort from
everyone with
some solid
goaltending from
Smit.
Championship
would have been
nice, but good
tournament and
the team should
be able to build
off of it. Very
proud of the
boys.”
