Twisted Sticksters Take Lambton Ladies Elite Division Title in Shootout

The Lambton Ladies Hockey League Elite Division concluded in an exciting final.

Before the championship game four teams competed In the semi-finals.  In the first game the leagues 2nd place (16-3-1) Sleeping Beauties earned a spot in the championship round after defeating the league leaders Blackhawks (9-7-4)  with a final score of 5 - 2.  In the second semi-final the 3rd place Twisted Sticksters (15-4-1) advanced after taking a 2 - 0 shut out win against the 4th place Flags (11-8-1).

The Sleeping Beauties and the Twisted Sticksters met four times in the regular season. The Sleeping Beauties defeated the Twisted Sticksters
3 games to 1 and were considered the favourites heading into the final.

In the final game the two sides were scoreless after two periods of play. In the third Alicia Schroeter scored the first marker for the Twisted Sticksters only to have the Sleeping Beauties tie the game minutes later by Kris Conrad. 

Action continued and regulation time ended sending the game into overtime where the Champions were still undecided after the overtime period ended sending the game into a shootout. 

After four shooters Briana Dubowski was the hero netting the winning goal and the Twisted Sticksters earned Lambton Ladies League Elite Division Championship Title.
