The Sarnia team
of Grant Collison and Sharon
Philpott were the best bowlers
of the day when the Sarnia Lawn
Bowling Club hosted an Open
Pairs Tournament on the Civic
Holiday Monday.
But the real winner was the
Breast Cancer Society, with over
$1,200 raised for that charity
in the annual Breast Cancer
Tournament.
Sixteen teams (32 bowlers)
competed with entries from
Sarnia, Ridgetown, London and
Flint, Mi. Second place was won
by Terry Little and Janet
Fougere of Ridgetown, while
Joyce Dewey and Elsie McGill of
the Sarnia club took third.
Sarnia Lawn Bowling Libro
Credit Union In-Club Pairs
Tournament
Twenty-eight
members of the Sarnia Lawn
Bowling Club got together on a
sunny Sunday recently (July 26)
to contest the Libro Credit
Union In-Club Pairs Tournament
at the local bowling greens.
Two games were played with a
supper of hotdogs and hamburgers
enjoyed in between. With play
completed, the team of Nancy
McCann and Mary Winter had won
both their games and posted the
best score. Second place went to
Bill Recor and Cecelia Machan,
with Gerry Wild and Bobbie
Frankum finishing third.
