Mooretown Flags End Losing Streak with Win in Wallaceburg

The Mooretown Flags ended their three game losing streak with a 5 - 2 win in Wallaceburg Wednesday night in Great Lakes Jr. C regular season action.

 

The Flags scored two goals in both the first and second periods and added a single in the third. 

Scoring goals for Mooretown were Jakob Reeves, Nolan Riley, Colton Osborne, Joe DeSena and Ryan Lyle.
 

Alex Ritchie and Brendan Ritchie scored for Wallaceburg.

 

The Flags took a total of 27 minutes in penalties on 9 infractions, the Lakers received 37 minutes on 10.   Mooretown scored twice on seven power play opportunities.  Wallaceburg scored one on five.

 

It is recorded that the Flags outshot the Lakers 53 - 20.  Brandon Johnson earned the win with 18 saves, George Hill suffer the loss making 48 saves.

 

The Flags record is 16-11-2-0 and currently they are tied for third with Amherstburg.  However Amherstburg is two games back.

 

Mooretown is back in action on Saturday night when they host Lakeshore Canadiens (13-10-2-3) at 7:30 pm at the Moore Sports Complex.
