It's been a busy week for the Mooretown Flags as they hosted the Lakeshore Canadiens on Saturday night in their third game of the week where they came up short and suffered a 4 - 2 loss.

Lakeshore took a 2 - 0 lead after the first period with Dylan Kolic and JJ Percy lighting the lamp for the Canadiens.

Jakob Reeves from Kyle Smith opened the scoring for the Flags at 1:19 into the second period only to have the Canadiens answer back at 2:44 when Austin Jennings who was left wide open and skated in beat Flags netminder Brandon Johnson.  The score would remain the same to end the period with the Flags trailing 3 - 1.

Third period action saw captain Matt Brandon hit the mark early at 2:53 to narrow the gap to 3 - 2.  The two teams went end to end and as the clock was winding down, the Canadiens took a penalty and the Flags emptied their net giving the Flags a 6 - 3 man advantage.  However a mishandled puck at the blue line and it was picked up and fired in to the empty net by Jarrett Tazzman that secured the win for Lakeshore.

Lakeshore outshot the Flags by 30 - 29.

The Flags took one penalty in the game giving the Canadiens one power play opportunity which they were denied on.  On the Flags side they were scoreless on six power play opportunities.

The Flags are now 16-12-2-0 as they return to action tonight for their 4th game of the week traveling to Blenheim to take the second place Blades (18-9-1-0).
